Manual Press

Manual press for multiple shoe sole assembling

The concept is focused on reducing occupational illness for the workers from a shoe factory in Bucaramanga (Colombia), since they execute a pre-attachment of the shoe sole for mass production with their bare hands and by putting the glued sole in their mouths..

The designed manual press prevents direct contact of the workers with dangerous chemical substances and prevents health problems related with biomechanical risk, in addition it allows to simultaneously press up to four soles. The device redefines the operator actions by changing the original procedure where the worker used his hands and mouth for a new one in which he uses a manual tool.
