Manual Press

Manual press for multiple shoe sole assembling

The concept was focused on reducing occupational illnesses for the workers from a shoe factory in Bucaramanga (Colombia), since they execute a shoe pre-attachment for mass production with their bare hands and by acting as a human press by using their jaws to ensure a basic adhesion.

This manual press prevents direct contact of the workers with dangerous chemical substances and prevents further health problems related with this activity.

The original procedure contemplated the used of hands and jaws from a worker is not only redefined but also optimized, since it allows to simultaneously press up to four soles.
